We aim to promote scholarship, establish best practices, and encourage the exchange of ideas across the continuum of clinical skills education.

Vision:
Become the national leader for teaching, assessment, and scholarship in clinical skills education.

Planning Initiatives Matrix 2021-2026

The DOCS strategic planning work group is comprised of DOCS past presidents and members of the 2020-2021 Executive Council. The work group has identified initiatives that will guide and inform DOCS decision making through the next five years. Every attempt was made to simplify the plan while retaining a measure of confidence that all outcomes are feasible and achievable, as well as responsive to major internal and external trends.
As a result of the work group’s comprehensive planning process, 6 major themes emerged:

-
Be the premier source for quality, innovation, and best practices in clinical skills teaching
-
Serve as the preeminent organization for clinical skills research and scholarly activity
-
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in clinical skills education
-
Recruit and retain the top educators in clinical skills for mentorship and leadership
-
Empower professional growth of the DOCS community through mentorship,
exchange of ideas, and collaboration of members
-
Achieve economic sustainability and growth to fulfill the DOCS vision
